Lifting classrooms towards the equity we dream of

through creative curricula & interdisciplinary solutions

IMG_0825 (1).jpeg

We are here.

And we get to do this work.

I am an educator, researcher, and poet that designs and delivers anti-bias and trauma-informed equity programs for institutions, educators, and students that are healing-centered.

As a facilitator, curriculum designer, and teacher coach, my focus is on the intersections between systems of oppression, colonialism, and patriarchy utilizing Transformative & Engaged pedagogy and Feminist lenses.

With 15 years of experience in the classroom with marginalized communities across higher education, and as a practicing artist, I have dedicated my life to transformative education, justice, and liberation.

 Compassionate  Support for

    Institutions &  Educators

We now have the opportunity to explore identity construction, and how our positionality and implicit biases can inflict harm on the students we aim to serve. And we can do it in a way that is compassionate and equanimous.

We all know we have learned behaviors as educators in a society that has roots in inequity. I invite educators to take courageous ownership of the role they play in their student’s lives by learning to recognize, and interrupt trauma-inducing actions.  From there, we adopt a growth mindset that can heal institutional and student-facing relationships.

My approach is grounded in the practice of cultivating joy and self-actualization in the classroom by naming and disrupting systems of oppression endemic in environments where learning occurs. Part of this process activates post-training integration: optional customized support for participants in an effort to encourage institutional alignment.

Anti-Bias & Trauma-Informed Recovery for Institutions

These interactive presentations are for district administrators, teacher cohorts and educator groups that engage with marginalized learners. Walk in with questions, walk out with holistic strategies that focus on student experience and growth mindset for all parties involved. Receive learning materials to review as well as futures thinking materials to continue the institutional conversation.

1:1 Coaching & Training Integrations

These confidential sessions are opportunities to explore the themes of anti-bias trainings and how we embody them as individuals.  We will develop practical tools to explore individual identities and how they inform our biases; where they show up in the classroom, and how they impact teacher-student relationships.

The nature of this work can be hard to integrate.  This is the place to do some personal work, ask difficult questions, and step back into teaching practice, fully equipped with confidence, humility, and a growth mindset.

These are rapidly changing times.

No matter where you are on your anti-bias journey, I invite you to connect with me for a free 20-minute intake session

so I can learn more about your institution's needs and how I can best support your current and future efforts.
